Before I talk about raw, I have a few thought about the Royal Rumble. I watched only the rumble match not the whole PPV, so I'll only talk about that.
It seems hypocritical to run an angle leading up to the rumble where an announcer criticizes semi retired wrestlers for trying to get a spot in the rumble only for the announcer to take one of the spots. Also you can have old guys show up for cheap pops, or non wrestlers come in for comedy bits but don't do both over 1/6th of the rumble spots were taken by non active people while there were handfuls of guys who didn't get in. All this does is lead to no new stars being made. Kane never won a rumble but I can recall how impressive he has been in past rumbles. They could have used the three announcers spots to get three newer guys some face time and maybe get them over. Imagine if Trent Baretta had gone out and lasted for 25 minutes and eliminated even only 5 guys.
The Foley/Marella dueling cobra/socko bit was funny but seemed out of place in the rumble match.
The Kofi Kingston handstand to avoid elimination who very impressive.
So they build Jericho up with this recluse gimmick, only to have him enter the rumble and act like normal and then not even win the thing. I wonder what the plan is now?
Ok now onto RAW.
I love heel Danielson. Please please please let him start doing the "I've got till 5" thing soon. They also need to start letting him be a vicious technician.
Conjoined twins that he keeps locked in the attic, this show need more William Regal.
They could give Punk and Danielson a hour every week and I would want to watch every match they would have. The amount of storytelling and in ring psychology in this one match was greater than a normal months worth of shows.
If this is building to Punk/Jericho at Wrestlemania, I might have to find some way to watch it.
I don't think there is anyone who want Undertaker/HHH II. What they need to do is have some of the brash new guns trying to get the ultimate feather in their cap by ending the streak. Ziggler, Swagger, or The Miz would all work nicely in this role.
