Sunday Jan. 8th

Saturday and Sunday will usually be a bit of a catch up time for all the things I didn't get to during the week.  But this weekend I ended up watching all five and a half hours of Strikeforce coverage and that ate up most of the weekend.  Strikeforce won't get covered here since its a sport, except to say, has Keith Jardine ever won a big time main event fight?  He always seems to get right to the threshold of elite only to lose and then work his way back to the threshold only to lose again.

First off I have to say how great it is that Xbox added the dailymotion app to the 360 right before this started airing.  It's so much nicer to watch this on my couch and big TV as opposed to hunched over my computer.

It's only day 2 but so far I'm liking everybody, no one has come across as a jerk, but no one really stands out as my favorite either except maybe Frankie, I know he went in with a lot of boos but I think he will change the public's mind if he keeps acting like a chill down to earth guy.

I liked the task they had to do.  It let everyone air some of their dirty laundry.  It seemed like some of the British celebs didn't even know why everyone was there and this let it all be know without it getting really awkward.  I didn't like that the prize was Romeo's suitcase, he went a whole day without it, big deal.  It would have been far more amusing if they kept giving them crazy costumes for tasks and he was forced to continue to wear the costumes as his only clothes.

Say what you will about the American public school system, but I know I can find: America, Australia, South Africa, and Canada on the map.  And it wasn't just Kirk, you could hear others saying they had no idea where some of the countries were.  It was also amusing that big brother asked him to put pins in North America and Canada.  I'm pretty sure they meant the U.S. and didn't realize Canada is in North America.

If ever there was a show more fitting of its name I don't know what it is.  The shows not exactly good, but is not really bad....its just somewhere in the middle. This show is what I think Hollywood thinks the rest of the country is though.

As for the show itself, I like Brick with his ability to be both cute and creepy all at the same time.  same time.  And Sue is the epitome of every awkward thing anyone has every done in high school. That's a quality actress to know your character is always going to be the butt of everything they are involved in and still embrace the role with such enthusiasm.  Also Sue's gay boyfriend always makes me laugh. This week with his wrestling costume and rehearsals.

It was a decent episode where somehow they took five stories didn't really give any of them a conclusion and still kind of made it work.

I'm still undecided on this show.  It doesn't seem that great, but I really like most of the cast so I keep giving it chances to develop into something.  It seems to have some of the same problems that Veronica Mars had.  Namely sometimes the main character is above all the normal high school nonsense, and other times they fall victim to the same things they usually rally against.  At least here its usually observed that its happening.

Ahh the scumbags have returned. I wonder what is in store for these idiots this summer.   Wait let me guess, they'll get drunk, fight with strangers, fight with each other, not want to go to work, have sex with people they shouldn't both from inside and outside of the house, spend the entire summer hating each other, and then at the end decide they cant wait to do it all again next year.

Before we begin, my ranking of the roommates form first to worst:
1. Paulie
2.Vinny
3. Jennifer
4. Ron
5.Dena
6.Sammie
7.Nicole
8.Mike

Wait they went right from Italy to the shore? No breaks from filming? No time off to recuperate? I see this leading to some burnout among the cast.  Also when was the reunion filmed? If they went straight to seaside it couldn't have been filmed until after the summer was over.  Meaning all the things that happen over the summer had already taken place and needed to be surpressed and not mentioned.  That all seems odd to me, why not give them some time off.  One of the best things about the second season was how Paulie had learned from watching the first season on TV and came back "in" on the joke and became a total ham for the camera and whatever situation they were in.  Watch him, he's totally goofing around all the time because he knows its all a big joke.

At first I felt sorry for Sam & Ronnie having to room with Mike, but then they showed the clips from last year at the shore and well...they deserve each other.

Now I enjoy a good pickle and have been know from time to time to indulge in some pickle juice, but that was a lot of pickle juice to drink in one sitting.  She must have consumed about a tenth of that giant jar.

When they went to the T-shirt shop I froze the screen on their schedule.  They are only scheduled 2 days a week!?! and when they are scheduled the shifts were either from 10-2 or from 5-9.  So remember that as you watch this season, and all they do is complain about work and show up late.  They are working two 4 hour shifts a week.

Someone needs to teach Paulie and Vinny what Eskimo brothers are.  I could see them running with that term and making it a running gag for the whole summer.

Were not even a full episode in and I'm all ready sick of Mike and Nicole's drama.  It wasn't entertaining or interesting last season and since nothing has changed it's even less so now.

The sign on the bar said you needed 2 forms of ID to get in.  Who brings two forms of picture ID with them on vacation?  Is that a Jersey thing like pumping your own gas?

  1. Jerzday! Yeah buddy. Best parts of Italy...Paulie/Vin cleaning the clippers with Mike's toothbrush and on the last day of work when Vin says "calling all cars". I was surprised, too, that there was no break between Italy and the Shore. And the Snooki/Mike drama is so 2011. Amazingly, they managed to stretch what should have been 45 seconds of drunken Sitch drama into 30 minutes. But I think Deena is by far the most gross. Remember on the last Shore when they found those nasty underwear? I am STILL 110% sure they were hers.

    1. The ranking order was more for overall likeability than grossness. The order would be very different if grossness was the only factor and there would be a six or seven way tie for last place
