"Tavern on the Greenbacks" Air Date 1-31-12
The intro calls them "a new breed of gamblers". I don't really fell that they are gamblers at all. They know how and what they will have to do before they do it. They are setting the price for what they will do. The only way they come close to gambling is on how much goes wrong in shipping the item, and with that the best outcome is nothing. I don't know of any gambler who would place a bet where the very best you could do is not lose.
I'm still confused as to whose responsibility some of the key components of the shipment are. I guess it must vary from contract to contract. Was it the people Roy was picking that food truck up from who were responsible for it not running, or was he justified in his attitude when he dropped it off. Also were they supposed to get it off of his truck or was he supposed to. It makes a difference because one way he's just being a jerk and the other the buyer is ill-prepared and costing him time and money.
I guess Roy forgot his lesson in customer service from the last episode. But I think I've figured out why he does this for a living. I don't think he could work anywhere where he had to interact with other people or the public.
Considering Jarrett was two days late delivering his shipment, they were a pretty generous customer.
"Water World" Air Date 1-18-12
Hmmm... so Nix was "randomly selected" to work with the one guy he has been saying is the only guy that he didn't get along with in the last challenge.
They never said how long the models have to stay underwater. I could see the amount of time underwater greatly affecting the challenge.
I can't tell if Beki is being mean or if Miranda is not competent at almost anything.
Lots of contestants with bad teeth. Which is fitting since if last seasons is any indication, special effects people like to make monsters with bad teeth. I wonder if its some passive aggressive thing.
If the judges are the same three people every single week, we don' t need to spend the time rattling off all their accomplishments and credentials when ever they are about to judge something.
Ok, if the one thing that sets this challenge apart is it takes place underwater, and they give you a tank of water with your supplies. You would think that very early on in the process you would test your makeup to make sure it holds up oh I don't know, UNDER WATER! There is no excuse for all that make up coming off, even if they were rushed in application it was a failed attempt from the get go,
Interesting, for all the talk and potential, only one team went with long flowing elements to their design. You would think that most of them would have done it considering how it looks underwater.
That turtle was pretty jacked, Nix deserved to go. If not for the color choice, definitely for the failure in the underwater test.
"Little Bo Bleep" Air Date 1-18-12
I didn't find this to be the best episode the show has ever done. There was nothing overly bad with it, but also nothing that made it stand out of special. It was just kind of there.
I found all three story arcs to just not click. The only really funny part of the episode was with David Cross at the debate and even that was below the high expectations I have for this show.
When did Julie Bowen lose all this weight? If you look at her in the wedding scenes, she's nothing but skin and bones. I don't think she was that undernourished looking on Ed.
